Recently, three nurses from a Saudi Arabian hospital were fired after they were caught abusing a newborn baby on camera. The baby’s parents were completely shocked and left aghast when they saw the video on social media.

According to the Daily Mail, one of the nurses grasped the baby’s neck and forehead. She also squashed its face while the other nurses cruelly giggled in the background.

They were discovered to be staff members of a maternity hospital in Taif, Saudi Arabia. Abdulhadi Al-Rabie, the spokesperson of Taif Health Affairs, disclosed:

“The Health Affairs investigated the source of the video and was able to identify the nurses who appeared in the video and the hospital where the incident took place.”

The nurses were immediately terminated from their jobs after the incident. In addition, their medical licenses have been revoked. They have also been barred from working in other health departments.

The father of the newborn baby said that their child was admitted to the hospital for ten days due to a urinary tract infection (UTI).

Meanwhile, netizens who saw the shocking video expressed their rage through the comments section. The source gathered some comments such as:

“How dare they do this?”

“All three nurses should thank God I was not the baby’s mother. I’d squeeze all your faces much harder.”

In an additional report from The Independent, the spokesperson of the hospital was cited as saying, “The nurses were immediately suspended by the order of Director of Taif Health Affairs Saleh Al-Muanis.”

He also issued a statement on Twitter, where he said that the nurses’ actions were considered an affront to the newborn baby’s “dignity and safety.”

Now people are calling for the nurses to be officially punished – not just terminated from their jobs.

Based on The Sun’s report, journalist Walid Al-Zahrani is currently initiating the move for the nurses to be placed on trial. He said, “People’s lives are not a matter of joke.”
